Summary of Position:
The Director Financial Systems (DFS) role is responsible for financial system strategy,
development, support and operation. This responsibility includes development and management
of system enhancement and upgrade road mapping, oversight of the help desk and support
services for both vendors, users and stakeholders, serving as the vendor point of contact for
system functionality planning and implementation, ensuring system functionality aligns with
Company policy and procedure. The systems under consideration are the core accounting
(Yardi) and all systems that integrate with the core accounting system. These may include
unique reporting systems, budget and forecasting systems, document management and tax
systems. The role works closely with the audit and IT security teams to ensure the financial
systems are compliant with SOX regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
? Develop and manage a financial system roadmap that identifies future enhancements and
upgrades to the financial systems
? Manage financial system support services and ensure service levels are acceptable. The
role participates in the servicing of support requests where appropriate.
? Establish and manage project plans and teams to manage financial system initiatives
? Perform configuration changes as appropriate to address stakeholders needs
? Serve as the liaison to service vendors ensuring vendor performance and focus is in
alignment with Company objectives
? Work closely with the Information Systems team and auditors in the planning,
implementation and maintenance of application controls
? Review and evaluate vendor release and upgrade offerings
? Stay abreast of vendor future development plans and participate on vendor user groups as
appropriate
? Maintain a current knowledge of financial systems technology trends and practices
? Work closely with the Director of Security, Compliance and Administration in
forecasting and budgeting financial system costs

Education and Experience Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in Business or Finance preferred
? 10 + years in a finance, accounting or financial system role
? Demonstrated experience in IT audit or system administration
Physical Requirements:
This is a primarily a sedentary office position which requires the Manager of System
Administration to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend,
stoop, reach, lift and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
