FAQ’s

Q: What makes your model different and how does that help our organization?
A: We are the next generation IT consulting firm. We have developed an Engagement Database (EDB) that qualifies, matches and ranks candidates to our client projects. We also match with our client cultures, skills, technologies, roles and responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy. The better the fit, the more successful the project engagement for all parties concerned.

Q: What happens if our needs change part way through an engagement?
A: FCG is very flexible and will adjust to meet your requirements. We focus on long-term strategic relationships and can easily adjust to your short-term needs.

Q: How do you bill for your services?
A: FCG can bill weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or on a milestone delivery basis.

Q: When you take Project Responsibility, are you essentially acting as a traditional IT Integration Services firm?
A: Yes

Q: What percentage of your business is traditional IT Staff Augmentation resourcing vs. “Full Project Responsibility” type that is mentioned?
A: We actually look at our engagements in a more granular view.
  1. Fully Outsourced to FCG (10%)
  2. FCG Lead with a mixed team of client and FCG professionals (30%)
  3. Client Lead with an FCG team or FCG in key leadership roles (30%)
  4. Client Lead with a mixed team of service providers (FCG may or may not have leadership role) (15%)
  5. Client Lead with traditional augmentation responsibility (15%)

Q: What level of involvement do you expect from the client in determining the final resource deployed on any particular project?
A: We expect them to have final say on all resources involved with their engagement.

Q: What happens if our project extends significantly beyond the initially contracted for timeframe? Can we extend our arrangements?
A: Again, FCG is very flexible and will adjust to meet your requirements. We focus on a long-term relationship and adjust to your short-term needs.

Q: What happens if we decide that we would like to retain a Foothills Consulting Group individual as a fulltime staff employee?
A: Part of our flexibility is that we are always open to having our staff join our clients. We believe it helps build a lasting relationship. In fact, many clients are upfront before the project starts and state that they might want to hire a consultant on a full-time basis. If this is the case, we utilize our Engagement Database to identify those candidates that may be more willing then others to subsequently join a client. Obviously, we can’t force our consultant to join a client, but if they believe it’s a good fit then we encourage them.

Q: Can you help us evaluate or business processes and software selection?
A: Absolutely, We have industry experts in all fields that are skilled in the BPI space and with software evaluation experience.

Q: Are you affiliated with any software vendor?
A: No. If we were, we would be more like a consulting boutique that will push it’s vendor’s solution and build your project around what they can deliver vs. what you need.

Q: Can you help us with an open source strategy?
A: We can. FCG acquired OpenSource Advisors, an industry leading open source consulting firm. We have incorporated many of their business processes to form our next generation consulting firm.
